Friday, April 4th, 2003: Oakland Athletics and Astros Agree to Trade
The Oakland Athletics have parted ways with 26-year old catcher Ramon Hernandez, sending him to the Houston Astros for 29-year old reliever Octavio Dotel. The Athletics general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning.

In his career Hernandez has played in 457 games, totaled 349 hits, 71 doubles, no triples and 39 homers. He has hit .247 with 185 RBIs and scored 171 times.

Dotel's career stats shape up like this: In 414 innings, he has struck out 494, walked 184 and saved 25 games, while compiling a 24-19 record and a 3.85 ERA.
